There were 27 new cases of coronavirus reported yesterday in Monterey County, bringing the total to 10,587. There was one new hospitalization and no deaths reported. That was the good news. The bad news is that there were 58,539 cases nationwide, up more than 15K from the day prior. Deaths were up significantly as well, +915 versus +561 the day prior. Cumulatively there have been 7.726 million cases across the company and 213,876 deaths. The U.S reported the highest number of daily COVID infections in nearly two months (August 14).
