There were 187 new COVID-19 cases announced for Monterey County, bringing the total up to 39,040 with 4 more deaths.  Nationwide, there were 165,264 new cases, bringing the total up to 25.9 million, while deaths rose by 3,867 to 434,783.  COVID-19 is now the number one cause of death in the United States with more than 3,000 people dying at 3,000 a day, nearly 50% higher than the second leading cause of death.  In California, there were 17,576 new cases for a cume total of 3.3 million, while deaths rose by 587 (+2%) to 39,597.  These numbers are still high, please stay home and stay safe.

There were279 new COVID-19 cases announced for Monterey County, bringing the total up to 38,713 with 13 more people in the hospital and 13 more deaths.  Nationwide, there were 151,616 new cases for a total of 25.5 million, while deaths rose by 4,023 to 427,215.  In California, there were 21,784 new cases for a cume total of 3.2 million, while deaths rose by 738 (+2%) to 38,295.  These numbers are depressing, please stay home and stay safe.

There were 1,149 new COVID-19 cases announced for Monterey County for the last two days, bringing the total up to 38,434 with 13 more people in the hospital and two new deaths.  Nationwide, there were 155,677 new cases for a total of 25.4 million, while deaths rose by 2,971 to 423,192.  In California, there were 15,434 cases for a cume total of 3.2 million, while deaths rose by 208 to 37,557.  These numbers are stark, please stay home and stay safe.

There were 516 new COVID-19 cases announced for Monterey County, bringing the total up to 36,906 with no new deaths.  Nationwide, there were 208,088 new cases for a total of 25.1 million, while deaths rose by 2,687 to 418,373.  In our state, there were 20,263 cases for a cume total of 3.167 million, while deaths rose by 516 to 36,906.  These numbers are stark, please stay home and stay safe.

There were 338 new cases of COVID-19 announced for Monterey County, for a cume total of 36,464.  There were thankfully no new deaths.  Nationwide, there were 185,070 new cases, for a total of 24.399 million.  Deaths rose by more than 3,000 to 403,929.  In California, there were 26,598 new cases reported, for a total of 3.077 million, while deaths rose by 535 (+2%) to 34,480.  These numbers are not looking good, please stay home and stay safe.

There were 303 new cases of COVID-19 announced for Monterey Count, for a cume total of 36,126.  There were five new deaths.  Nationwide, there were 1,972 new cases for a total of 400,810.  This is almost as many (409K) Americans who died in 2019 from Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, the flu, pneumonia and strokes combined.  In California, there were 28K new cases for a total of 3.050 million, while deaths rose by 303 to 33,945.  These numbers are heart wrenching, please stay home and stay safe.

There were no new cases of COVID-19 announced for Monterey County, which may be due to the holiday.  There were eight more people in the hospital and no new deaths.  Nationwide, there were 169,641 new cases for a total of 24.071 million, while deaths rose by 2,247 to 398,838.  The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention forecast that another 90,000 Americans could die of coronavirus over the next three weeks.  That could bring the total close to half a million people in the U.S.  In California, there were 45,648 new cases for a cume total of 3.022 million, while deaths rose by 249 to 33,642.  These numbers are sad, please stay home and stay safe.

There were 496 new COVID-19 cases announced for Monterey County, bringing the total up to 34,959 with no new hospitalizations and 1 new death for a total of 249.  Nationwide, there were 238,390 new cases for a total of 23.409 million, while deaths rose by 3,040 to 389,944.  In our state, there were 36,642 cases for a cume total of 2.904 million, while deaths rose by 601 to 32,287.  These numbers are bleak, please stay home and stay safe.

There were 440 new COVID-19 cases announced for Monterey County, bringing the total up to 34,482 with no new hospitalizations and no new deaths.  Nationwide, there were 301K new cases and over 4K deaths.  This means that we set a new record for deaths from COVID-19 and the highest tallies for new infections and new deaths have all occurred in 2021.  More than 131,300 people are now hospitalized with COVID-19, according to the COVID tracking project.  In California, new cases totaled 40K for a cume total of 2.867 million, while deaths rose by more than 2% (+536) to 31,686.  Please stay home as much as possible.  Stay safe.

There were 1,367new COVID-19 cases announced for Monterey County, bringing the total up to 33,671 with no new hospitalizations and 5 new deaths for a total of 247.  The number of ICU beds in the Bay Area is bleak, but Monterey County still has 41 ICU beds available versus zero for Santa Cruz County.

Nationwide, there were 223K new cases for a total in excess of close to 12 million.  Deaths rose by over 2,000 to 379,020.  In California, the situation is bleak with a heavy outbreak in Southern California.  In California, the average number of new cases per day had increased by more than 250K to 2.786 million, while deaths rose by 1,367 (+4%) to 33,761.
