How we customize our care
to your needs
As part of our clients’ personalized experience at Family inHome Caregiving, we complete a thorough assessment of each client’s personality and needs. Our goals are to:
Learn all of the client’s health, nutrition, house-making, and care needs.
Determine whether we are a good fit for the client’s needs.
Match the client with the perfect caregiver(s).
Create a care plan that includes their established daily routines.

What to Expect During Our
Assessment:
STEP 1
Initial Assessment
If you are interested in working with us, please call 831-275-0103, email us at [email protected], or submit a request via our website contact form.
After you reach out to us via phone, email, or our website contact form, we will set up a time to meet to discuss your needs. Prior to COVID restrictions, meetings were in person. Now, they are conducted via telephone or zoom if possible. During this initial conversation, we gather the clients’ personal information and assess their needs. We discuss their medical history, medication issues, house-making and transportation needs, daily routines, use of supportive devices, and the home setup.
STEP 2
In-Home Assessment
After the initial conversation, we’ll coordinate a time to perform a walk-through (following all current CDC recommendations regarding use of masks and social distancing, when possible). During this in-person session, we will assess the clients’ living area to determine the layout and whether any modifications (such as a shower chair or handheld shower, for example) are recommended.
During this in-home assessment, we’ll also take the time to answer any questions and get to know the client and their family. We’ll discuss whether there are any special concerns or needs, as well as what kind of care aide you think would be a good fit based on your needs.
STEP 3
Caregiver Matching and Client Welcome
After the two-part assessment, we will explain all of our policies and procedures. We will then finalize all of the paperwork to welcome you as our newest client! Within a few days, we will match you with your perfect Care Aide(s) and introduce you to our Training Manager.
STEP 4
Initial Care Period
From here, the Training Manager will work with the client in-home alongside their Care Aide for the first few days. This ensures that everyone is comfortable and all of the client’s needs are met. It also ensures that in the event another Care Aide is ever needed, the Training Manager can train another caregiver without disrupting the client’s routine.
Our Levels of Care
At Family inHome Caregiving, we use a system of Care Levels to easily identify our clients’ needs and scope of care. Each client’s level of care is determined through our assessment. We’ll work with the client and their family, and through our vast experience, determine exactly what services would suit each client at the time.
Should your needs change, Family inHome Caregiving can change with you. If a client, their family, or their Care Aide believes the client’s needs have changed, we can perform another assessment and update the care plan at any time.
